Little Village Air Quality Initiative 2013

Project Description

The Little Village Air Quality Initiative is a project aimed to change the ways we think about the pollution in our neighborhood. This is a step forward to provide research and analysis about the quality of air particularly in the Little Village community. The Little Village Air Quality Initiative is based on multiple sensors programmed to collect Carbon Monoxide, Ozone, Nitrogen Dioxide, Temperature, and Relative Humidity levels in real-time, then visualizing the data to the public and projected on a store-front. The LVAQI is a community project. It extends from analyzing data into social action. This project reflects data based on our energy and mobility cycles; it studies the effects that our transportation choices make, and the potential that we have to make our streets cleaned and safer.
